“Niggles” are those things about the computer that drive you round the bend! A programmer may have written his software in a ‘user friendly’ way but you’re now the user and you just don’t see it the same way he does. I can help to explain how software works and suggest how to make the best use of the software you have.

 

It may be that you do something in the way somebody showed you, but you think it takes an awfully long time and there must be a quicker way, there probably is. I can help you find that way.

 

It could be that something minor has stopped working and you don’t think it’s worth raising a call for.

 

You may think that you should be able to do something but simply don’t know where to start. For instance, how do you get a file from Movie Maker to a DVD that will play on your DVD player in the lounge?

 

Here’s a suggestion: when you hit upon a Niggle, open a notepad file (go to start button, accessories, notepad) and write down what the problem is. When you have enough of them (say 3 to 5), give me a call and arrange a visit. We can hit them all in one go and get you working efficiently with your PC. You could even email me the file (see the contacts page) so that I can come prepared.
